The German tennis player Alexander Zverev visited the Boca Juniors stadium, known as 'La Bombonera', to watch the match between Boca and Independiente Rivadavia during the fifth round of the Apertura Tournament. Zverev, who was in Argentina to participate in the Argentina Open, expressed that he had never experienced such an intense football atmosphere before.
After being eliminated from the Argentina Open by the Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo, Zverev shared his impressions about his visit to Argentina. He highlighted that he loved the passion for football in the country and mentioned that, while he also enjoyed the local food, his primary interest was to experience Argentine football.
In an interview, Zverev shared: "I live in Germany, where we have one of the best leagues in the world. Diego Schwartzman recommended that I experience going to a stadium in Argentina, with Argentine fans. Definitely, the experience was incredible, I had never felt a similar atmosphere in football."
The German tennis player admitted that due to the intensity of football fandom in Argentina, he received both sympathy and rejection from fans of other teams. Despite this, Zverev was delighted with the experience and does not rule out returning in the future to enjoy another match in a different stadium and immerse himself once again in the passion of Argentine fans.
